Every year I look forward to the family to take away for our annual vacation. I love all the holidays, well, almost everything. I do not particularly like choosing a vacation spot.
You would think that not the case, but it is. You see, I always want to somewhere exotic and adventurous, but my family would just go to the most famous attractions of the park. I can not understand why Disney World is about the same from year to year!
They argue back and forth until I usually cave in, as always safe, no matter where we go, but I wish I would often go a bit more.
But let me tell you, one year I managed to convince them to something a bit more exotic, try everything – a much more exotic. It was very spectacular and I want to talk to you today so you can go there yourself one day.
I speak of the temple of Borobudur.
If you’re in ancient temples and exotic history, then this is the place for you! You may not have ever heard and that’s fine because most people do not.
It is located in the plains of Kedu, located in central Java. Java is a province of Indonesia, here in Asia. In fact, a bit everywhere in Asia is incredible, especially if you have never experienced culture.
Basically this place is a temple of the eighth century … a Buddhist temple to be exact (think large statues of Buddha). The entire temple was built in the shape of a lotus flower, which is great. There are many temples, like those days are still there today.
There are nearly 100 large Buddha statues along the walls of the temple. The walls alone would stretch almost 8,500 meters in length.
I do not think it fair to say that this is one of the finest monuments in all of Asia. I do not think many people say! Even if you do not go, do yourself a favor and look around a bit on the internet ‘for some pictures of this place. And “spectacular.
This is a celebration for adults and children. Your children will remember this place all the time in which they live. With our shrinking world and Western civilization are increasingly intertwined and employees in Asia, it is important to explore their rich heritage and temple of Borobudur is a good starting point. I recommend you start planning your trip now
